Starting off as a rapper, he would get his career started by collaborating with other artists in the Nashville rap scene. By 2010, Jelly Roll found some success with the hip-hop song “Pop Another Pill”. This added fuel to the creative fire and inspired him to keep trudging forward in the music industry. Soon, Jelly Roll would find that his southern accent lent itself better to country music that to rap.
In 2020, Jelly Roll broke through with the release of “Save Me”, an acoustic track that has garnered over 200 million views on YouTube. This led to his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in 2021. He would take the stage for the first time in 2022 with Craig Morgan to perform “Almost Home”. Also that year, Jelly Roll saw his track “Dead Man Walking” reach number one on rock radio while “Son of a Sinner” debuted at number one on country radio.
From humble beginnings to the top of the charts, picking up CMA Awards, CMT Music Awards, and multiple Grammy nominations, Jelly Roll has hit is big.
