Seattle Seahawks Suites

Since first opening its doors in 2002, Lumen Field (previously known as CenturyLink Field) has become one of the most prominent stadiums in the NFL. The iconic U-shaped open roof directs the sound of the raucous crowd back down onto the field, resulting in a major home field advantage for the Seahawks. While the home team’s offense calls their plays and makes their adjustments at the line easily with the help of a quiet crowd, the opposition faces a deafening cacophony of sound sure to cause confusion and miscommunication. The crowd noise causes such issues that they are thought of as another player, leading to their nickname, the “12th Man”.

This NFL franchise joined the league as an expansion team in 1976. Having persevered through some lean years, the Seahawks have grown into an absolutely dominant force in the NFC West. When he purchased the team in 1996, the late Paul Allen sought to build a winning club and that is just what he did, culminating with a Super Bowl title in 2013.

After back to back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 and 2014, the Seahawks rode into the playoffs in 2015 and 2016 only to be bounced in the divisional round of the playoffs, cutting short their dream of a second Super Bowl title. The 2017 campaign resulted in another step backwards, with the team going 9-7 and missing the playoffs altogether. They were able to regroup in 2018 with a 10 win season and a Wild Card berth. However, they were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 24-22. The 2019 season saw Seattle put together a record of 11-5 for another playoff berth. A hard-fought battle against Philadelphia saw the Seahawks advance with a final score of 17-9. Matching up with the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, Seattle left it all on the field in a hard-fought contest that ended with the Packers on top by a score of 28-23. The 2020 team reclaimed the NFC West title with a 12-4 record. However, their postseason run was cut short as the Rams took the Wild Card win by a score of 30-20.

Head Coach Pete Carroll’s message is always to roll with the changes and adapt. No task seems too big when you have an elite quarterback in Russell Wilson taking the snaps under center. He has gotten a great deal of help from fourth year running back Chris Carson, who had a down year after eclipsing 1,000 yards for two straight seasons. The passing game is anchored by 2019 second round draft pick D.K. Metcalf who, along with Tyler Lockett, is always looking to make himself available for Wilson. Wide Receiver David Moore is also prepared to make considerable contributions to the offense.

Wilson hopes to benefit from the added bonus of Greg Olsen at tight end in 2020. The perennial Pro Bowler has signed with Seattle after leaving the Carolina Panthers. He is a big body that can block and is a dangerous threat in the passing game. Jacob Hollister has also played a big role at the position.

Defensively, this squad has talent all over the depth chart starting with Bobby Wagner. The leader of this group, Wagner calls everything from the middle linebacker position. He is aided by some big time talent in K.J. Wright, Tre Flowers, Shaquill Griffin, and Quinton Dunbar. Adding to the group is safety Jamal Adams who came over from the New York Jets and 2019 first round draft pick (29th overall) LJ Collier. While Collier did not have a great first year, but has begun to right the ship in his sophomore campaign. Defensive end Bruce Irvin returns to Seattle intent on rushing the passer with everything he’s got. The Seahawks took linebacker Jordyn Brooks out of Texas Tech with the 27th overall pick in 2020 to further strengthen their famous defense.

Legendary players for the Seattle Seahawks include Steve Largent, Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, and Walter Jones. See all of the action from the Seattle Seahawks suites. Click here for more information about the Seattle Seahawks history.
